ZIP guide
Open a ZIP data export, not just its file list.
A ZIP viewer tells you which files exist. A data workspace helps you find the tables, nested collections, images, and documents worth exploring.
A file tree is only the beginning
An export might include several CSVs, JSON files with nested records, a workbook, and media. Their filenames do not necessarily tell you which contents belong together. Unwrap lists the archive’s contents in Files and highlights useful starting points in Overview.
Three steps inside an archive
01
Choose the ZIP
Open the original archive. Unwrap scans its entries without asking you to extract the ZIP first.
02
Find the contents
Use Overview to find a starting point. Open Files to browse the archive’s contents and source paths.
03
Inspect a collection
Open a dataset in Cards, Table, or Structure; open recognized images and PDFs in their media views.
See what Unwrap could open
Unwrap opens supported CSV, JSON, and .xlsx data inside ZIPs, along with supported images and PDFs. Files includes entries Unwrap could not open. Findings explains import issues affecting individual files or sheets; other sheets in the same workbook may still be available. For format and archive-size limits, see supported formats.
Your archive stays on your device
Unwrap reads the ZIP in your browser without uploading its contents. See privacy for how the site handles other requests.
Common questions
Can I open a ZIP containing CSV files without extracting it?
Yes. Unwrap can discover and open supported CSV files inside the archive. Files preserves their source paths.
Where do I look if something is missing?
Check Files for the archive’s contents and source paths. Findings explains import issues affecting individual files or sheets. Unwrap can show what is in this ZIP; it cannot tell whether the exporting service left something out.
